With the 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards presented in the round for the first time, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences kept with the night's warm, enveloping feel by spreading the love among a variety of shows. "The Sopranos" won Best Drama Series as expected, but only a handful of programs won more than one award. Among the surprises were James Spader's Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series win for "Boston Legal" and Jeremy Piven's win for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series - making it two in a row for the "Entourage" comic. Ricky Gervais beat out frontrunner Alec Baldwin for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, while Jaime Pressly, Terry O'Quinn, and Katherine Heigl won Supporting awards. America Ferrera and Sally Field won in the Best Lead Actress categories, and recent Oscar winner Helen Mirren looked truly stunning while accepting the trophy for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Movie.
