2007 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California is always one of the best rock fests of the year, but 2007's three-day head-banging extravaganza really took the cake. If for no other reason, it was a special year at the sweaty, crowded festival due to the hotly anticipated reunion of talented protest rockers Rage Against the Machine. The band's last performance was at Coachella in 1999, and their energetic performance, filled with calls for world peace and anger with the Bush administration, didn't disappoint fans. Saturday's headliner was the Red Hot Chili Peppers, while Friday was led by avant-pop goddess Bjork, whose new album "Volta" is reportedly one of her best in years. Music fans had a lot to take in over the weekend, with other performances including Amy Winehouse, Interpol, Sonic Youth, and Scarlett Johansson performing with The Jesus and Mary Chain.
