There was something definitely in the holiday air at the Radio Music Awards this year. For some it meant going home sick, but for most it meant showing up to bring down the house. Ashlee Simpson fell ill in Tokyo. That wasn’t a big deal because Bo Bice quickly filled in her spot. Then, the night before the show, Bice had to be rushed to the hospital because of complications from a prior surgery. Not to worry. The Goo Goo Dolls were going to be there any way because they were nominated for Artist of the Year which they won, beating out 2005's golden boys, Green Day. The fluke illnesses of Simpson and Bice didn’t keep the night's other big winners down either. Mariah Carey took home yet another accolade and Green Day recovered by snatching up Song of the Year. And what award show being held in late December would be complete without a Santa. Well, then, how about two? George Wendt played the part of the jolly old man in red, directing the show with Jaime Pressly and Mark McGrath, and Snoop Dogg too helped to spread good tidings, taking the stage with the Pussycat Dolls to sing the holiday classic, "Santa Baby."
