This year’s presentation of the MusiCares Person of the Year Award was at the top of the list of wish-you-could-be-there Grammy celebrations. In honor of his exceptional musical achievements and his philanthropic efforts, MusiCares, which is produced by the Recording Academy, hosted James Taylor as its guest of honor. Taylor began his career in the 1960s but hit it big in the early 1970s with his second album, Sweet Baby James. By 1976 he had recorded enough songs to put out a greatest hits album, which to date has sold over 11 million copies. Monday night’s tribute included fellow legends Jackson Browne, Bruce Springsteen, David Crosby and Carole King along with The Dixie Chicks and Sheryl Crow.
