There are few, if any, who are bigger than Clive Davis in the music industry. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer signed Janis Joplin and Bruce Springsteen, and through his J Records he continues to attract the hottest names in the business. You don’t need to go any further than Davis’ pre-Grammy party to witness this producing legend’s enduring allure. If you still don’t get it, then maybe a little namedropping is what you need. Among those who performed on Tuesday night were Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Barry Manilow, Rod Stewart, Snoop Dogg, and Kelly Clarkson in front of a crowd that included David Bowie (he received a lifetime achievement award), Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, Alicia Keys, Diana Ross, Sheryl Crow, and Evander Holyfield. We can’t name everybody right here, but you get the point—if you think that they’re great then they were probably inside mixing it up with Clive.
