"Superman Returns" this summer in the form of Brandon Routh, who stars as The Man of Steel in the first Superman movie in more than a decade. Helmed by veteran comic-book movie director Bryan Singer, this long-anticipated film has years of buzz behind it.

Following a battle with Kryptonian super-villans, Superman leaves earth in search of his home planet's remaining survivors. Finding none, he returns six years later to find that life on Earth – and Lois Lane (Kate Bosworth) – have both moved on without him. But just when it seems that the world no longer needs a superhero, Lex Luthor (Kevin Spacey) is released from prison, ready with his next plan to put Metropolis – and the world – in peril, and in the process destroy Superman once and for all.

With a supporting cast that includes James Marsden, Parker Posey, Frank Langella and special archive footage of Marlon Brando as Superman's father, Jor-El, "Superman Returns" is sure to be summer's most out-of-this-world film.
