Born on April 15, 1990 in Paris, France, striking young Brit Emma Watson has amassed a fortune playing Hermione Granger in the "Harry Potter" films, and if her popularity is any indication she has a long career ahead of her.
Watson is the older of two children born to Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both English lawyers who lived in France for several years where Emma was born. She ultimately spent much of her youth in Oxford, England, where she attended The Dragon School, a prep institution. In June 2003 she decided to complete her education at The Headington School, an all-girls school nearby. During all this posh schooling, Watson has taken on an extraordinary extra-curricular activity – starring in all five of the so-far released "Harry Potter" films. The first installment, 2001's "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," catapulted Watson to international stardom with a one of the film's most acclaimed performances.
This charming, gorgeous young star truly embodies the sharp Hermione Granger – smart as a whip (Watson is an 'A' student on the side), unassumingly beautiful, strong-willed, and an excellent role model for young girls. Her acting in the "Potter" films has won her considerable acclaim, including two AOL Moviegoers' Awards for Best Actress and an Otto Award for Best Female Film Star. Watson has confirmed she will star in the final two "Potter" films ("Order of the Phoenix" has recently stormed theatres), and hopes to attend university while taking on new acting roles after the "Potter" hoopla dies down.
