Hollywoodland

"Hollywoodland" is a sordid tale of scandal, murder, and the dangers of fame in Tinseltown. The film is a mostly fictionalized account of the death of George Reeves, best known as the star of TV's "Adventures of Superman", who died from a single gunshot wound in 1959. Judged a suicide by the Los Angeles police, a savvy private detective (Adrien Brody) is hired to find out the truth, and the investigation leads him to revelations he never imagined. Ben Affleck takes on the role of Reeves, and has received considerable acclaim for his portrayal, including a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor. The superb cast also features Diane Lane and Bob Hoskins.
