Years in the making, Robert De Niro’s first directorial project since 1993’s “A Bronx Tale” is a politically charged epic about the rise of the Central Intelligence Agency and the man who spearheaded its dominance. Matt Damon plays Edward Wilson, an upstanding, intelligent Yale graduate who is offered a position at the newly formed CIA. With the Cold War setting in, Wilson’s operations lead to increasing paranoia and unrest that threaten to unravel his ordered world and destroy his family.

     “The Good Shepherd” sports an all-star supporting cast, including Angelina Jolie, De Niro, and Joe Pesci in his first role since 1998’s “Lethal Weapon 4”. With talent this hot, this long-awaited project might have a few Oscar noms in its future.
